Antique Roman leather bag (Pera/Loculus)
Very nice high quality reconstruction of a Roman legionary bag made from vegetabily tanned leather. Loculus is a Latin word literally meaning little place and was used in a number of senses including to indicate a satchel. Satchels were carried by Roman legionaries, as a part of their sarcina or luggage. The square shaped quality, vegetable tanned, leather Loculus, a satchels or bags feature both a handle attached to the bag's flap and a long strap secured to the ends of the bag, with a flap closure.
