Collection: Bags & Pouches
Rectangular bag
Large, rectangular bags with side panels have been found on the Comacchio ship wreck in Italy. Another Comacchio bag simply consists of one folded or two sheets of leather. For carrying these can have a shoulder strap and/or handle.
Drawstring pouches
These can be made of just one piece of leather like in Vindolanda (England). Others have been found, e.g. at Barger Compascuum (Netherlands), in the Comacchio ship wreck, at Vindonissa (Switzerland), or at the Cave of Letters (Israel).

Materials
For every type of Roman bag, decorational stitching and/or applications seem to be common feature, as well as the usage of variously colored/dyed leather.
