Antique Roman legionary helmet replica (Coolus 'D', Haltern)
High level reconstruction of a typical Coolus-type helmet. The original found comes from the former Roman camp at Haltern am See (Germany). 2000 years ago this place was one of the most important Roman military castles in Germania.on the right side of the river Rhine.
The famous 19th legion was located in Haltern before it was completely destroyed during the Varus battle (clades Variana).
The original helmet is dated in the early 1st century a.D. datiert and can now be visited in the Roman museum in Haltern.
Delivery includes a padded cotton cap for wear underneath the helmet.
